Mobile ice cream unit hire – what really matters
Most enquiries don't fall through because of price, but because of three things nobody checked beforehand: Can the vehicle reach the venue? Is there power? And is the serving speed enough for your guest numbers? Clarify these three questions up front and you'll get a matching quote much faster.
Access and parking space: A classic ice cream van needs drivable access and around 3 × 6 metres of parking space. A Piaggio Ape, at around 1.4 metres wide, needs much less, and an ice cream bike can go practically anywhere. If in doubt, measure your garden gate before you send a request.
Power: 22 of the 70 vehicles in the network cool themselves, with no power connection needed. All others usually need a normal 230V socket within reach. For festival fields and woodland venues, this is the point most often overlooked.
Guest numbers: One vehicle with one member of staff serves 80 to 300 portions per hour, depending on type. If 200 guests all want ice cream within half an hour, you'll get a queue – two smaller vehicles are often the better solution than one with maximum capacity.
